Mylopotamos (Museum of rural, folklore and cultural heritage)
“The process of gathering honey”
The first part, from 18:00 to 21:00, refers to children from 6 to 12 years old and is organized by the Museum’s children workshop. Children learn about bee-keeping and through play they create and present their own story. The workshop is planned and run by Athanasia Anagnostopoulou.
The second part, from 21:00 and on, refers to adults and children. George Evgenikos will tell us the myth of the patron god of beekeeping Aristaeus. Nikos Kontolemos, agriculturalist, will talk about the art of bee-keeping while Andreas Mouzakis and Nikos Mouzakis present the whole event.
Next, visitors will see the process of gathering honey, make and taste their own honey delicacies and amuse themselves in the sound of bagpipes, traditional drums and violins.

“The Monkey and the crocodile”
An amazing set of fables and proverbs where animals play the roles of humans, giving us a humoristic mirror of our behaviours. The origin of these fables is the indian Panchatantra which has influenced the repertory of Esope and La Fontaine, giving a universal dimension to these stories. Abbi Patrix is using the power of speech to weave an inextricable net of words seeking to put the audience in a state of wonder like the crocodile. Linda Edsjö, percussionist, will use hands and skin percussions to give rhythm and life to the stories. Beware of the stories and beware of the storyteller.

FINAL EVENT OF 13TH FOLKTALES FESTIVAL

Festive evening with storytelling, dance, folk music, wine. Katia Kantouri and Stefanos Lepouras will tell us stories from the folk oral tradition of Kea. And as every year, this year as well we will party with traditional music and songs from all over Greece at the closing of the folktales festival.

Appendix
Profitis Ilias Path.Route 3 (Giristi - Profitis Ilias).
From the Giristi place, we walk the path of Profitis Ilias, we reach to a point about ± 1,5 km and return back in the same way. The entire route is paved and passes through the oak forest. You will need comfortable shoes and a flashlight for the return. It is clarified that there will not be organized transition to the area of events. port.

If you get the approval, please don't use flash during the performances; also beware of your camera sound, it can be destracting both to the artist and the audience.
